The Ohio State University College of Social Work invites applications for two tenure-track faculty positions (assistant and/or senior faculty) beginning August 2018. Ohio State, through its Discovery Theme Initiative, is currently investing in transdisciplinary, innovative, collaborative, and impactful faculty. Consistent with this institutional spirit of discovery, the college recently invested significantly in research infrastructure and is committed to advancing science aimed at solving major global challenges. We are recruiting exceptional candidates, from social work and related disciplines, with a preference for demonstrated strong research and scholarship capacity with diverse populations. Candidates with agendas focused on aging, substance abuse, or mental health are particularly encouraged to apply. In addition to research and scholarship, we seek candidates who are committed to excellence in teaching and mentorship of students, particularly diverse student populations. The college offers a host of innovative teaching options at the undergraduate, MSW, and PhD level, including traditional and online formats.

Preference will be given to candidates in the substance abuse and mental health area who have two or more years of post-MSW practice experience.

Successful senior faculty candidates will have externally-funded research programs, promote the development of a shared vision of academic excellence, and demonstrate excellence in research, teaching, and mentorship.
