Director, Political Economy Research Institute. Classified as an R3 institution by the Carnegie Foundation (Doctoral University – Moderate Research Activity), MTSU’s own Jennings A. Jones College of Business and the University Honors College joint ventured in 2016 to establish the Political Economy Research Institute.  The mission of the institute is to engage undergraduate and graduate students with faculty in research that will further the understanding of free market business and economic principles, as well as their impact on regional, national, and international financial conditions and the well-being of society.  This is a tenured position in the Department of Economics and Finance in the Jones College of Business.

The primary area of research/teaching interest desired for the Director is economics, with particular emphasis on public choice theory.  The Director should be an accomplished leader in the academic and/or professional community. Through teaching, research, service and administration, the Director will provide leadership to the Political Economy Research Institute and energize the campus by attracting national attention to MTSU.
