The U.S.-Peru Fulbright Commission (Fulbright Peru) invites U.S. and Peruvian citizens to apply by October 30 for the position of Executive Director. Fulbright Peru is a non-profit, binational organization with more than sixty years of activities in Peru in support of educational, academic, and cultural cooperation between the United States and Peru through bilateral exchanges and related services. The position portfolio includes the Fulbright Academic Exchange Program, associated educational exchanges, English language and testing programs, and educational advising services. The Executive Director oversees an annual budget approaching US$850,000 and reports to both a binational board, which includes Peruvian and U.S. members and representatives of the U.S. Embassy, as well as to central headquarters in Washington DC. Demonstrated leadership competencies, program development experience, financial know-how, marketing and public relations expertise, and an entrepreneurial flair are key attributes for this role. The Executive Director is the public face of a high-profile, prestigious binational program, requiring outstanding interpersonal, public speaking, and diplomatic skills. The position requires domestic and some international travel to promote U.S.-Peru academic cooperation and the Fulbright program. The candidate should have a minimum of ten years of professional experience; solid knowledge of the higher education and culture sectors, both public and private, in Peru and the United States; and be able to direct and supervise multicultural teams. The candidate must possess an advanced degree from a U.S. university (doctoral degree preferred); fluency in both English and Spanish; and experience in academic, research, and higher education administration and fundraising.
Salary will be paid in Peruvian soles. Competitive compensation package is commensurate with education and experience. Candidates must be available to assume the position by April 1, 2018.
