The Africana Studies Program at Bucknell University invites
applications for an open rank, tenure-track position to begin
August 2018. The substantive area is Black Political Thought and/or
Black Critical Theory, with a strong focus on social and political
injustice as they pertain to the global black experience. The
successful candidate will teach both introductory and upper level
undergraduate courses that focus on the theoretical and material
expressions of Africana culture, experience, and thought and will
be expected to develop a robust research program.
Preference will be given to candidates who draw on theories, methods, and approaches in Africana Studies as well as those whose work is situated at the intersections of disciplines within the social sciences, humanities, and arts. Applicants must have a PhD by the time of appointment.
