Two Assistant Professor Positions

One in School Psychology and One in Counseling Psychology

The Department of Educational Psychology at the University of Kansas is seeking to fill two tenure-track Assistant Professor Positions.

Assistant Professor in School Psychology

This position is a nine-month tenure-track appointment in the School Psychology program beginning August 18, 2018. We are committed to attracting candidates with demonstrated interest and skill in integrating cultural and individual diversity in scholarship and the practice of school psychology. We actively encourage applications from members of underrepresented groups in higher education.

The University of Kansas School Psychology program has a doctoral (Ph.D.) and an educational specialist (Ed.S.) program. The Ph.D. and Ed.S. programs are approved by the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP), the National Council for the Accreditation of Teacher Education/Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (NCATE/CAEP), and the Kansas State Department of Education (KSDE). The Ph.D. program is also accredited by the American Psychological Association (APA). In addition to the Ph.D. and Ed.S. programs in school psychology, the Department of Educational Psychology offers Ph.D. and master’s degrees in counseling psychology, development and learning, and research, evaluation, measurement, and statistics. The Ph.D. program in counseling psychology is also APA-accredited.

Assistant Professor in Counseling Psychology

This position is a nine-month tenure-track appointment in the Counseling Psychology program beginning August 18, 2018. The Counseling Psychology program includes an APA-accredited Ph.D. degree as well as an MPCAC-accredited M.S. degree. In a continuing effort to enrich its academic environment and provide equal educational and employment opportunities, the university actively encourages applications from members of underrepresented groups in higher education.

We are interested in license-eligible candidates with a professional identity as a scientist-practitioner with demonstrated interest and skill in integrating cultural and individual diversity and multiculturalism in both the scholarship and practice of counseling psychology.

While the area of scholarly focus is open, we are particularly interested in individuals with special interest and expertise in vocational psychology, those with experience working with minoritized populations, and those with interest in working with school-aged populations.
