ROLE of the POSITION

The College of Education is seeking applications for two positions in the Human Services Program at the rank of Assistant Professor, tenure track. The Human Services Program serves UNLV students by offering an undergraduate degree in Human Services, a minor in Human Services, and a minor in Addictions Treatment. It is a dynamic program that attracts a diverse student body and is growing in demand. These faculty positions at UNLV provide the opportunity for the successful applicants to advance the undergraduate Human Services Program through developing collaborative partnerships to serve the local community and by expanding program curricular options.

We seek applicants who have knowledge of the Human Services field. Applicants must be able to establish and maintain effective professional relationships with students, colleagues, and supervisors. The successful applicant will be expected to establish and maintain an active research agenda and to secure external funding. QUALIFICATIONS

REQUIRED: This position requires a doctorate in Human Services or a closely related field from a regionally accredited college or university. Applicants must have some experience teaching at the university level as well as human services-related clinical experiences. Also required is a demonstrated potential for developing a strong record of published scholarship consistent with the expectations for scholarship at a research university.

PREFERRED: A candidate who has a record of commitment to shared governance in coordinating and developing an undergraduate program in Human Services; and who has facilitated interdisciplinary collaboration is preferred. Moreover, preference will be given to candidates who have experience teaching in an online format and/or experience with field supervision and/or addictions prevention/treatment. The candidate should possess strong interpersonal and collaborative skills and demonstrated leadership to promote the vision of the Human Services Program.

SALARY RANGE

Salary competitive with those at similarly situated institutions.
