Job Description:
Under the supervision of the Director, this position will apply professional level general ledger and fixed asset accounting skills. The selected candidate will be responsible for: preparing journal entries, reconciling balance sheet accounts, analyzing financial data, assisting with financial statement and annual audit preparation, working with departments to answer accounting questions, and completing special projects as assigned. This position will apply policies, procedures, and perform analysis, identify discrepancies, resolve issues, and report unresolved issues to the Director. This position requires consistent and reliable attendance, some travel to other campuses/work sites and evening and weekend work, particularly during peak accounting and reporting cycles.
Required Qualifications:

⢠Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university in Accounting, Finance, or closely related field
⢠Two (2) years of full-time working experience in accounting, including reconciling, analyzing, and reporting financial data.
Preferred Qualifications:
⢠Professional accounting experience in higher education or government.
⢠More than two years of full-time accounting experience.
⢠Professional level general ledger accounting skills.
⢠Professional level fixed asset accounting skills.
⢠Demonstrated working knowledge of the Student Financial module of PeopleSoft Campus Solutions.
⢠Demonstrated ability to work independently, multi-task, and prioritize.
⢠Proficient in verbal and written communication skills.
⢠Demonstrated ability to work with a diverse and multicultural work force.
⢠Ability to master new software applications.
⢠Must be accurate and detailed oriented.
