Counselor/Clinical Assistant Professor. The University of Florida Counseling and Wellness Center invites applications for multiple mental health professionals with experience in collegiate mental health who thrive in an environment that values collaboration and support among team members and will work with us as we seek to embrace differences and help nurture a healthy and healing campus environment for all. Our teams mission is fostering human development in all of its diversity through compassion, empowerment, advocacy, hope, empathy, and heart. We are seeking early, mid-, and late-career generalists with a strong interest in working with domestic and international students in a university counseling center. The clinical assistant professors primary responsibility is to provide direct clinical services, including group, individual and couples counseling, to University of Florida students. Potential colleagues should have experience working with a wide range of client problems and levels of severity. Clinical faculty members also provide consultation to UF faculty and staff. All faculty in our department provide professional training and teaching to graduate students, doctoral interns, and post-doctoral fellows. Similarly, all faculty take part in outreach and prevention efforts. We are particularly interested in candidates with expertise in one or more of the following areas: assessment/psychological testing, men's issues, substance abuse, autism spectrum, trauma, and psychotherapy and outreach with underserved/underrepresented minority groups. Minimum qualifications: Successful applicant qualifications must (1) have a doctoral degree in clinical psychology, counseling psychology or counseling from an APA accredited or CACREP accredited doctoral program and (2) be licensed or license-eligible as a mental health professional or psychologist in the state of Florida within two year of starting. Employment with the University of Florida is contingent upon the results of a criminal background check. Desired Qualifications: Preferred qualities of the candidate include: Experience working with college students and staff. Experience working in settings with more severe populations. Administrative and computer application skills required to effectively implement and maintain a case management and tracking system. Demonstrated skill in working well under pressure to prioritize and manage multiple clinical situations and to coordinate these efforts as a part of a multidisciplinary team. Energy to flexibly manage the professional demands of a challenging workload while maintaining positive and healthy perspectives and relationships. Collaborative spirit of warmth, acceptance, respect, and trust towards colleagues. Demonstrated sensitivity and commitment to multicultural issues/social justice and proven ability to interact with diverse individuals and groups. Self-motivated, self-directed commitment to high professional ideals, standards and ethics. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Experience in college mental health, including crisis assessment, brief intervention, confidentiality requirements, outreach and referral. Strong interest and experience with training and supervising students from various disciplines at the masters, doctoral, and postdoctoral level.
