The School of Business and Economics is seeking a tenure-track, 9-month faculty position. This position is split 50/50 between serving as 1) Assistant Professor of Management, and 2) MBA Director.

 

As Assistant Professor of Management, primary responsibilities will include the following:

1) Teaching courses in leadership, human resource management, project management, or other management related courses in which the candidate has expertise.

2) Teaching graduate and undergraduate courses in management through multiple formats (face-to-face, hybrid, and online) is both encouraged and expected.

3) Although we are a teaching-oriented department, scholarly activity, professional growth, and university service are required.

 

As MBA Director, the primary responsibility will be to lead the creation and implementation of the MBA program. The University of Wisconsin – Stevens Point (UWSP) has received pre-authorization from the UW System for an MBA in Applied Leadership and Decision Making. The MBA Director will have the following responsibilities:

1) Provide leadership through the authorization phase of the MBA program, which will include the preparation and submission of the MBA proposal with UW System, and coordinating the submission of the Letter of Commitment by UWSP administration

2) Following acceptance of the MBA proposal, provide leadership through the implementation phase of the MBA, which will include student recruitment, marketing, and program planning. It is expected that all necessary activities will be completed to successfully launch the MBA program in 2019.

3) Program planning activities will include coordinating as necessary MBA activities with SBE faculty, UWSP administration, and the AACSB. This will include curriculum development issues and program scheduling

 

Qualifications:

Required:

- A.B.D. in a management related discipline (such as human resources, leadership or a related field) from an AACSB-accredited institution with Ph.D./D.B.A. completion within the first year acceptable. Ph.D. required for retention, promotion and tenure.

- Demonstrated ability to teach management courses in multiple formats.

- Demonstrated ability to provide leadership through successful collaboration with academic faculty and administration in program development and implementation.

 

Preferred:

- Ph.D./D.B.A. in a management related discipline (such as human resources, leadership or a related field) from an AACSB-accredited institution.

- Demonstrated ability to teach courses in leadership, human resource management, project management, or other management related courses in which the candidate has expertise.

- Experience using current and emerging technologies and alternative delivery methods to enhance student learning.

- Experience working with non-traditional student audiences.

- Experience with program development within the University of Wisconsin system.

- Proven experience in successfully developing an MBA program.

- Professional experience in management related areas and an active research agenda.
