Major Duties
Under general supervision, the Senior Data Architect serves as a
data modeler to enable integration of data from various data
sources, including learning management system, student information
system, and other institutional applications to produce reports and
dashboards in support of organizational needs; serves as a liaison
with user areas to understand their analytics and reporting needs;
plays a key role in all aspects of the Systems Development Life
Cycle (SDLC) processes; serves as a backup report writer using
Tableau/OBIEE; designs, develops, troubleshoots, debugs, and
implements ETL software code; translates high-level requirements
into development tasks; estimates tasks based on technical debt,
level of effort and complexity; works in a fast paced, team
environment with multiple deadlines; and performs other duties as
assigned.
Qualifications
Equivalent to graduation from an accredited four-year college or
university with Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer
Science, or a job-related field. Five (5) years of full-time,
field-related experience, which includes 4 years hands-on ETL
experience using tools such as Data Stage, Informatica or ODI, SQL
writing and database programming, and experience with Relational
Database Management Systems (RDBMS) such as Oracle, SQL Server, or
similar databases.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Extensive knowledge of: data warehousing concepts; data validation,
testing and support activities. Functional knowledge of higher
education data and HR data is desirable. Familiarity with Tableau,
OBIEE, and academic technologies, especially with Canvas LMS, is
essential. Ability and specialized skills to: code, test, and debug
software applications; provide ongoing project leadership to
technical development staff; analyze problems and propose effective
solution; understand functional and procedural requirements and
develop alternative solutions; relate system solutions to
departmental management and staff; communicate effectively both
orally and in writing; develop and make presentations; conduct
meetings; develop and provide user training; and establish and
maintain effective working relationships with others. Highly

Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule
The university offers an excellent benefits package.
The salary range for this classification is: $6249 - $11,074 per
month.
The anticipated hiring range: $6249 - $8500, dependent upon
qualifications and experience.
Hours: Full Time 40hrs/wk; 8:00am - 5:00pm, Monday through Friday;
may include some evenings and weekends.
