The Department of Theatre and Dance at Missouri State University, in Springfield, Missouri, seeks

applications for a Department Head of Theatre and Dance beginning July 1, 2018.

The Department of Theatre and Dance at Missouri State University is one of seven departments in the College of Arts and Letters. The Department Head provides active leadership in recruitment and retention, curriculum development, hiring and evaluation of faculty, serving as producer for the summer Tent Theatre and leading diversity efforts. The Department Head also provides leadership to all areas of department, including BA, BS, BFA, and BSE programs.

 

Required Qualifications: Candidate must have terminal degree (doctorate or 60-hour MFA) in theatre or dance; tenured as a full professor in the department of Theatre and Dance. Must have at least five years of comprehensive administrative experience; experience leading a large, complex multidisciplinary department, including responsibility for recruitment and evaluation of personnel, guiding curriculum development, and budgeting. Must demonstrate support of initiatives in arts education and theater and dance professions. Must demonstrate commitment to providing a diverse environment. Must be successful in teaching, research and service; have excellent communication skills.
