Position Summary:
Willamette University, a selective primarily undergraduate institution in the Pacific Northwest, invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Chemistry position in biochemistry to begin August 2018.
Qualifications: A Ph.D. in chemistry or biochemistry completed by August 15, 2018 is required. The successful candidate will demonstrate the potential for excellence in teaching and research with undergraduate students.
All professors at Willamette are expected to teach non-majors as well as majors and to contribute to the College's General Education curriculum. Specific teaching responsibilities for this position include general chemistry, biochemistry, experimental biochemistry, advanced topics in biochemistry, and first-year colloquium, as well as directing senior chemistry research.
Our ACS-approved Chemistry Department (http://www.willamette.edu/cla/chem">http://www.willamette.edu/cla/chem) is equipped with modern instrumentation that is used in both our teaching and research missions. Our faculty members are active scholars, who lead externally funded research and pedagogical projects.
