The Social Sciences Program at Lewis-Clark State College (LCSC),
in Lewiston, Idaho, invites applications for a tenure-track
assistant professor position in Political Science. The start date
is August 14, 2018, and the beginning salary range is
$48,000-$50,000.
The successful candidate will teach courses in American politics --
including Introduction to American Politics – as well as multiple
sections of an interdisciplinary General Education capstone on
ethics and values. It is required that candidates have a
demonstrated ability to offer courses on Congress and the
Presidency as well as in one or more of the following areas: gender
and politics, race and politics, environmental politics/policy,
and/or public policy. Some online teaching will be expected.
Candidates must have a doctorate in Political Science by the
initial date of their employment. Current ABD applicants will be
considered provided completion of the doctorate by the start
date.
A small undergraduate institution of about 3,600 students, LCSC
emphasizes quality instruction. The teaching load is 24 credits per
year (about eight classes). Advising, professional development, and
institutional service are required.

Lewiston is located at the confluence of the Snake and Clearwater

over two dozen public parks, and a cost of living below the
national average.
