The Social Sciences Program at Lewis-Clark State College (LCSC), in Lewiston, Idaho, invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor position in Political Science. The start date is August 14, 2018, and the beginning salary range is $48,000-$50,000.

The successful candidate will teach courses in American politics -- including Introduction to American Politics – as well as multiple sections of an interdisciplinary General Education capstone on ethics and values. It is required that candidates have a demonstrated ability to offer courses on Congress and the Presidency as well as in one or more of the following areas: gender and politics, race and politics, environmental politics/policy, and/or public policy. Some online teaching will be expected.

Candidates must have a doctorate in Political Science by the initial date of their employment. Current ABD applicants will be considered provided completion of the doctorate by the start date.

A small undergraduate institution of about 3,600 students, LCSC emphasizes quality instruction. The teaching load is 24 credits per year (about eight classes). Advising, professional development, and institutional service are required.
