Malone University invites nominations and applications for the
position of Vice President for Advancement.
The University seeks an experienced advancement professional who
exhibits a personal understanding of, and operates in concert with,
the Mission and Doctrinal statements and Foundational Principles of
the University - and who can advance the institution through
significant fundraising and friend-raising initiatives. This
position is an important addition to the University leadership team
(the University Collegium), and the successful individual will be
expected to grow alumni engagement and philanthropy, while
enhancing the University’s brand and profile
regionally.
Reporting to the President, the Vice President for Advancement
serves as the chief advancement officer for the University and is a
member of the President’s leadership team, the University
Collegium. She/He has responsibility for overall fundraising
strategy and results, donor/prospect identification and cultivation
strategies, The Malone Fund, planned giving, intercollegiate
athletic fundraising, alumni and parent relations and church
relations. The Vice President also serves as staff liaison to the
Advancement Committee of the University Board of Trustees and
provides strategic planning, administration, donor relations, and
team leadership.
A bachelor’s degree is required and a master’s degree is preferred.
Five or more years of progressive experience in fundraising and a
working knowledge of fundraising principles and operations is
required. Proven experience in a capital campaign is also strongly
preferred. Fundraising experience in higher education is preferred
with experience in the faith-based higher education sector strongly
