Organizational Relationship:  Reports to the Dean of Career and Technical Education through the Department Chair

Location:  Painted Desert Campus, Holbrook, AZ

Required Qualifications:

  • Five years industry and/or teaching experience in any or all of these industrial maintenance (mechatronics) skill areas:
  • Industrial electricity including AC & DC motors, hydraulics, pneumatics, industrial robotics, PLC’s, sensors, and general automation technology, and mechanical power transmission
  • A successful candidate will demonstrate expertise in theory, troubleshooting and maintenance in topics they will teach.
  • Associate’s degree, may be obtained in the first 3 years of employment.
  • NCCER Certification required to be obtained within the first three months of employment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s and/or Master’s Degree in a related area.
  • OSHA 10 Instructor Certification

Responsibilities:

  1. Positively supports & promotes college’s mission, governing board, president, administrators, faculty, staff, students and communities.
  2. Teach courses within the Industrial Maintenance and Operations/Mechatronics Technology curriculum.
  3. Teach a minimum of 33 load points per academic year, at varied times and possibly varied locations. Office at PDC.
  4. Participate in planning, development and evaluation of curriculum and internship experiences.
  5. Develop and maintain outreach and cooperative activities.
  6. Order, maintain and inventory supplies and equipment.
  7. Provide input for budgets.
  8. Maintains industry recognized certification in assigned discipline, as required.
  9. Stay current in the subject matter areas and in the techniques of effective instruction.
  10. Participate in department and division activities, school meetings, advisory groups, program review, and serve on college committees as required to maintain and improve the instructional program.
  11. Assist with course articulation issues, marketing and workshops.
  12. Maintain regular office hours.
  13. Assess student learning.
  14. Assist in timely scheduling of classes to meet registrar deadlines.
  15. May work with student clubs and/or organizations.
  16. Performs other duties as assigned.

Skills Required:

Excellent teaching, verbal and written communications skills. Ability to assess students for academic achievement; order and inventory supplies and equipment; plan, coordinate and organize courses and lab experiences; and work effectively with colleagues, students, and all agencies.

Required License/Certifications: Valid Arizona driver’s license.

Compensation:   Initial salary range of $45,509 to $57,342 depending on education and experience.
