Vice President, Academic Services

Lincoln Land Community College (LLCC) is seeking applications from individuals interested in an exciting leadership opportunity as the Vice President of Academic Services (VPAS). Reporting to the President, the VPAS provides the academic leadership to ensure the college’s excellence in its curricula, teaching and public outreach. The VPAS is responsible for the vitality of the College’s academic life and brings the best academic practices to a culture committed to continual improvement.

LLCC is a fully accredited comprehensive community college serving approximately 15,000 credit and non-credit students in 161 degree and certificate programs. LLCC has a proven track record of financial stability during times of uncertain funding from the state of Illinois. LLCC’s 220 acre main campus is located in Springfield, the state capitol of Illinois. Seven additional locations are located throughout central Illinois.

The VPAS will be expected to provide creative and collegial leadership to the academic officers and faculty, and to work collaboratively with the President and her cabinet. This will include fostering the college’s commitment to student success, guidance for instructional innovation, academic strategic planning and quality outcomes assessment. Successful candidates will demonstrate valuing the difference among people, culture and ideas.

The ideal candidate will be an accomplished teacher who works well with faculty and who is also a seasoned administrator with experience at the level of dean or higher. A Master’s degree is required, with a doctorate preferred. Prior experience working in a collective bargaining environment is also highly desirable. Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a criminal background check and drug screen.

The full position description, qualifications and application can be accessed at www.llcc.edu/hr. This position will be open until filled; however, for full consideration, applications must be submitted by Tuesday, September 5, 2017.
