Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a twelve-month, tenure-track Director of the Master of Arts in Professional Writing Program and Associate Professor or Professor Creative Writing, Rhetoric and Composition, Applied or Professional Writing faculty position in the Department of English, College of Humanities and Social Sciences.

 

Position Responsibilities: Primary responsibilities will include overseeing the curriculum, supervising faculty, advising and recruiting students, advertising and promoting the program and its activities, administering the teaching assistants and graduate research assistants assigned to the program, mentoring students and faculty, and representing the program on committees within the Department, the College, and across the University. Candidates must also be willing to involve themselves in all three areas of faculty responsibility: teaching, service, and scholarship.

 

Required Education, qualifications, and experience: Applicants for the position must possess a terminal degree (or its foreign equivalent) in creative writing, rhetoric and composition, professional writing, or a related field. Applicants with the training, ability, and/or experience equivalent to the minimum degree may be considered. Candidates should also have an established record of publications commensurate with leadership of such a program. Experience in academic leadership is desirable.
