Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a twelve-month, tenure-track Associate Dean for Academics and Associate Professor or Professor Engineering faculty position in the College of Engineering and Engineering Technology.

 

Position Responsibilities: Responsibilities include administration, teaching, scholarship, and service. The Associate Dean is required to assist the Dean in facilitating all college activities and to provide leadership toward achievement of excellence in teaching, research, and service activities of the college. The Associate Dean is also required to work closely with the academic department chairs, the Dean of the College, the Vice Provost, and Provost, and other administrative unit directors in achieving the University’s strategic goals. Required Education, qualifications, and experience: An earned doctorate, or its foreign equivalent in an Engineering discipline offered by the college or closely related area from an ABET accredited institution and 3 years of relevant industrial experience are required. Applicants with the training, ability, and/or experience equivalent to the minimum degree may be considered.

 

Candidates must provide evidence of effective teaching and research in an area of Engineering that merits appointment as an associate or full professor with tenure. The successful candidate must have strong interpersonal skills and be able to demonstrate an ability to perform necessary administrative tasks (which could be demonstrated by professional experience with: leadership in strategic planning; engagement in shared governance activities; budget planning, promotion of faculty scholarship, teaching and service activities; or, leadership in promoting the vision and mission of the University, College or Department. The Southern Polytechnic College of Engineering and Engineering Technology has 7 departments – Civil and Construction Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Systems and Industrial Engineering and Engineering Technology. The college serves over 4,100 students with 6 master’s degrees, and 14 undergraduate degrees.
