The UCLA Department of Musicology seeks a scholar in the early stages of their career for a tenure-track position at the level of Assistant Professor. Required areas of expertise are Early Music, broadly defined. A strong plus (but not a requirement) will be applied-music leadership skills appropriate to future development of the UCLA Early Music Ensemble, which is administered by the department. The department welcomes a wide variety of secondary specialties.

The Department of Musicology is one of the leading programs in its discipline worldwide, and has recently become one of three departments comprising the new UCLA Herb Alpert School of Music, as a result of which the Department envisions many new and dynamic initiatives to develop in coming years.
