Director of the Waisman Center, University of Wisconsin-Madison

The Waisman Center is dedicated to the advancement of knowledge about human development, developmental disabilities, and neurodegenerative diseases throughout the lifespan. The Center is one of 14 national Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Research Centers and also encompasses a federally funded University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities. The Waisman Center provides an interdisciplinary research environment for over 50 faculty representing 20 academic departments of the University of Wisconsin-Madison and approximately 600 faculty, staff, graduate students, and postdoctoral fellows. The Waisman Center clinics and support programs serve more than 4,000 people with developmental disabilities a year.

The Director provides scientific and administrative leadership in basic and applied research in the behavioral and biomedical sciences. The Director serves as Principal Investigator for the NIH IDDRC award and is responsible for all aspects of program leadership and management including proposal writing, reporting, compliance, developing an effective management structure and regular communication with NIH leadership.

Minimum of a Ph.D., M.D. or other doctoral degree in a field relevant to developmental disabilities. Candidate must be eligible for tenure at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
