The Department of Biology at Amherst College invites applications
for a tenure-track position at the rank of assistant professor in
the area of developmental biology. Given Amherst College's
commitment to cultivating a challenging and inclusive educational
environment, we seek candidates who can teach, mentor, and inspire
students of different sexual orientations, genders, races,
ethnicities, nationalities, religions, and socioeconomic
backgrounds. The start date for the position is July 1, 2018.
The successful candidate will mount an active research program that
involves undergraduate students. Start-up funding and other forms
of institutional support are available. Teaching duties include a
lecture course with laboratory in developmental biology and regular
rotation through a cell biology course with laboratory or a
team-taught introductory course in molecular and cellular biology.
A completed Ph.D. is required and post-doctoral experience is
expected.
Candidates should submit a cover letter, curriculum vitae, research
statement, and teaching statement, and arrange for three
