Stevens Institute of Technology (Stevens) seeks a visionary and accomplished academic and administrative leader as the Chair of the Department of Civil, Environmental and Ocean Engineering (CEOE). The next CEOE Chair will report to the Dean of the Schaefer School of Engineering and Science (SES) and work closely with the leadership team of the University as the Institute continues to increase its impact and to fulfill its vision of being a world-class, student-centric research university. Qualified individuals will also be considered for an endowed chair position within SES. The Endowed Chair is expected to have a record of exemplary research, demonstrated leadership with building and managing a significant research enterprise, commitment to excellence in teaching, and a vision that will position the CEOE Department prominently at the national and international stage.

 

The Department of Civil, Environmental and Ocean Engineering is one of the eight departments in the SES. CEOE plays a critical role in the success of the entire university. CEOE maintains a rigorous commitment to preparing the next generation of technology leaders by offering a multi-disciplinary, design-based education taught by 30 full-time faculty members with an intensive curriculum for its 590 undergraduate and graduate students and three major research centers. The department offers undergraduate, masters and Ph.D. programs. Undergraduate programs include Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering and Engineering with a Concentration in Naval Engineering. All three programs are accredited by ABET.  Graduate programs include Master of Engineering programs in Civil, Environmental, Ocean, and Construction Engineering and Management along with Masters of Science programs in Construction Management and Sustainability Management. Ph.D. programs are available in Civil, Environmental and Ocean Engineering.
