The Department of Theology at the University of Notre Dame invites applications for a full-time
tenure-track or tenured position in Hebrew Bible/Old Testament at the rank of assistant or early
associate professor, with a starting date of August 2018. Area of specialization is open. An
earned Ph.D. in Biblical Studies by the time of appointment is required. Besides aptitude for high-
level research and writing, a successful candidate will show evidence of ability to teach a range
of subjects within Hebrew Bible at both undergraduate and graduate levels. The successful
candidate will also be sympathetic to the mission of the University of Notre Dame, which seeks a
distinctive educational and scholarly excellence that is founded on its Catholic identity.
