Academic Enhancement Activity Director

Position Number 000730 

The Activity Director for Academic Enhancement is a leadership position reporting to the Vice Provost and is responsible for coordinating all activities and charges of Academic Success Enhancement, a unit of Academic Affairs that engages in projects that enhance student success and the academic environment at North Carolina A&T State University. This will be accomplished through the oversight and employment of Title III resources to effect positive academic impacts for the University. The Activity Director will be responsible for soliciting and vetting priority project proposals, overseeing the use of Title III resources as it pertains to Academic Success Enhancement, and managing the activity in regards to goals and objectives that align with University priorities. 

The purpose of Academic Success Enhancement is to provide resources and leadership for key initiatives and projects that are funded by Title III in order to improve academic success and the academic environment at North Carolina A&T State University. 

The goals of Academic Success Enhancement (ASE) include:

1) to improve upon academic performance;

2) to develop and implement initiatives/projects that enhance the academic environment of North Carolina A&T;

3) to improve upon and support the professional development of faculty in research and teaching.

 

Minimum Requirements             

An advanced degree (masters or higher) and no less than two years of management-level experience working in a professional academic support function at the university level. 

Knowledge of the university and its core curriculum and academic standards. Possesses good time management skills. Ability to collect, assess and report on data related to campus-wide academic enhancement. Ability to communicate orally and in writing, and to make presentations to large groups. Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with diverse groups including co-workers, students, faculty, and administration of the university. Ability to administer, analyze, and interpret cognitive and achievement assessments, as well as transcripts and other standardized assessments. Proficient in the utilization of Microsoft Access, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint in management settings.
