Job Description Summary:

Job ID:  4539 - Unclassified - FT (Salaried)

This professional staff member reports to the Associate Director of Student Financial Assistance for all assigned functions.  This staff member is responsible for ensuring compliance and timely processing of the Federal Pell Grant program, responsible for performing the federal verification process, managing the imaging system and supervision of student employees.

 

Duties/Physical Demands:

  1. Operations Administrator to maintain the University records associated with the Federal Pell Grant program which disburses over $19 million annually.  
  2. Review reports, problem resolution, resolving potential over-payments with other colleges and universities, and coordinating monthly reconciliation efforts between the Common Origination and Disbursement system (COD) and Miami University records; responsible for performing the federal verification process of financial aid for the office.
  3. Manage the imaging system; testing, training and upgrades. Provide support and backup for the entry of received documents into the Banner system; responsible for retention of all student files.
  4. Maintain familiarity with federal/state aid programs in order to maintain standards, define new system activity, and assist in advising staff, students, parents, and other constituencies as deemed appropriate; provides general system support.
  5. Serve as backup to staff supporting financial assistance functions such as the transmission of files to and from the U.S. Department of Education, and the loading of FAFSA files and other data into Banner.
  6. Primary contact for the Duplicate PIDM committee.
  7. Assist Associate Director with Banner and other software security.
  8. Provide system related support as needed.
  9. Complete routine to complex administrative tasks such as preparing reports, completing projects, etc., as needed.
  10. Other duties as assigned.   

 

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree or an associate's degree with at least two years of relevant post-degree experience in a financial aid or equivalent office.  Must be organized, able to work independently, and have great attention to detail and accuracy.  Must be able to obtain access to U.S. Department of Education systems.
