COLLEGE OF FINE ARTS AND COMMUNICATION
Department of Electronic Media and Film – 1 position
Assistant Professor, Film and Media Production
Tenure-track, 10-month Assistant Professor in the Department of Electronic Media and Film beginning August 2018. MFA/Terminal Degree in film and media production at the time of appointment, and demonstrated success as a classroom teacher. Must possess a strong record of producing his/her own media work, and have a demonstrated track record of achievement in film festivals and other distribution channels. The department seeks a dynamic media maker with the technical skills and all around production knowledge to provide professional expertise, teaching excellence, and inspiring mentorship to our undergraduate students. From diversity in the curriculum to providing students with the opportunity to learn from individuals with a variety of backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives, the Department of Electronic Media and Film is committed to providing its students with a vibrant and diverse educational experience. The typical teaching load includes teaching two sections of foundation courses in the film and video production curriculum, as well as one section of either cinematography, editing and advanced post-production techniques, or narrative filmmaking. Faculty assigned an instructional workload of six (6) course units per academic year for the first year. Beginning the second year the workload reverts back to the standard instructional workload of seven to eight (7-8) course units per academic year with the possibility of reassigned time for scholarship or additional
service. Scholarship and service are also required. Creative scholarship should demonstrate a commitment to professional development in the candidate’s field of study. The deadline for submission of all materials is October 13, 2017. COFAC-N-3107

Department of Mass Communication and Communication Studies – 1 position
Assistant Professor, Strategic Public Relations and Integrated Communications
Tenure-track, 10-month Assistant Professor position in the Department of Mass Communication and Communication Studies beginning August 2018. PhD in the field of public relations/mass communication. ABD applicants considered, but appointment will be at the Instructor rank and all degree requirements must be completed by February 1, 2019. Demonstrated success or potential as a classroom teacher, and potential research productivity. Ideal candidates may have (1) strong theoretical background on social media and expertise in social media analytics and (2) skills in digital production (print, audio, and/or video). Faculty assigned an instructional workload of six (6) course units per academic year for the first year. Beginning the second year the workload reverts back to the standard instructional workload of seven to eight (7-8) course units per academic year. Teach two or more undergraduate courses among: Social Media & Strategic Communication, PR Campaigns, Principles of PR, and PR writing (in the order of priority). Graduate teaching responsibilities include one or more core courses including Communication Theory, Research Methods, and others in the candidate’s area of scholarship and expertise. Department of Physics, Astronomy and Geosciences – 1 position
Assistant Professor, Science Education
Tenure-track, 10-month Assistant Professor of Science Education position in the Department of Physics, Astronomy and Geosciences beginning August 2018. Doctorate in science education, curriculum and instruction (or an equivalent degree) or physical, earth or space sciences and extensive experience in science education. ABD applicants considered, but appointment will be at the Instructor rank and all degree requirements must be completed by February 1, 2019. Faculty assigned an instructional workload of six (6) course units per academic year for the first year. Beginning the second year the workload reverts back to the standard instructional workload of seven to eight (7-8) course units per academic year. Teach science content, field experience and methods courses for elementary and early childhood education majors, be involved in significant scholarly activity and provide service to the department.
