Entrepreneurship/Strategic Management Faculty/Endowed Chair

The Department of Management in the Trulaske College of Business at the University of Missouri (MU) invites applicants to apply for a rank open faculty position in Entrepreneurship/Strategic Management. Senior candidates with exceptional research productivity in top tier journals will be considered for an endowed chair in Entrepreneurship. Preference will be given to candidates who have completed a Ph.D. degree in a related area. ABD candidates within one year of completing their Ph.D. degrees will also be considered.

The successful candidate will demonstrate a high quality, active research stream in entrepreneurship, innovation, or technology management.  Collaborative work with faculty and doctoral students is expected.

Key skills sought include expertise in leading edge entrepreneurship and/or strategic management research, proven college level teaching ability, and collegiality in service roles. We seek candidates whose research is focused around managing innovative and entrepreneurial organizations. We desire candidates who will help achieve our goal to become a top 20 management department in terms of research excellence and instructional program innovation with a focus on the management of innovation, entrepreneurship and technology. Expertise in econometrics methods is also desired.

The Management Department consists of three research-oriented faculty groups:  Strategy, Innovation & Entrepreneurship; Innovation, People & Organizations (OB/HR); and Information Systems, Analytics & Technology. We are building a revitalized department based on reimagining what business and business education should be to serve constituents into the future. Our department contributes significant scholarly research and innovative instructional programs addressing cutting edge organizations, new forms of organizing, flexible and nimble organizations, organizations in the information age, creativity, and the idea economy.  We prepare students to be leaders in entrepreneurial and technology settings: in large established firms, small and medium sized growth businesses, and entrepreneurial startups.

The Trulaske College of Business consists of about 65 full-time faculty members who serve approximately 5,000 undergraduates, 285 master’s students, and 35 doctoral students. The Department of Management consists of 12 tenure-track faculty members and 10 full-time teaching faculty who share a strong commitment to excellence in research and teaching. We expect significant new hiring throughout the Management Department over the next five years.  More information can be found at http://business.missouri.edu.
