The Department of Modern Languages & Literatures of Santa Clara University, a Jesuit, Catholic university, invites applicants for a tenure-track position (Assistant Professor) in Italian Studies with a specialization in contemporary Italian and Italian-American literatures and cultures. Required qualifications include: Ph.D. (in hand at time of application) in Italian Studies, specializing in Italian and Italian-American literatures and cultures from the 19th, 20th and 21st Centuries with expertise in postcolonial, migration and transnational studies, migrant literature and cinema; evidence of at least two years of excellence in teaching (as instructor of record), course design and program development in Italian language and Italian Studies at the upper and lower division university levels and for University Core (evidenced by syllabi, evaluations of teaching, etc.); demonstrate evidence of a rigorous and sustainable research agenda.
