Dean, Driehaus College of Business DePaul University Chicago, IL Over the coming year, DePaul University will be seeking a new Dean for the Driehaus College of Business to assume the position on July 1, 2018. Offering a range of AACSB accredited undergraduate, masters, and doctoral level programs, the Driehaus College of Business seeks a strategically minded and entrepreneurial Dean who will work closely with faculty, staff and University leaders to develop and advance its strategic goals. Serving as the College's academic leader, s/he will work closely with more than 140 full-time faculty members drawn from the fields of accounting, economics, finance, marketing, management, hospitality, real estate, and entrepreneurship to encourage high quality scholarship as well as outstanding undergraduate and graduate teaching. The Dean is expected to engage in strategic planning and implementation to strengthen academic quality, teaching excellence, scholarly research, service, and diversity within an increasingly competitive higher education landscape. The Dean will play an important role in fundraising and development, an expectation greatly facilitated by an extensive alumni network and DePaul's location in a premier international city. The Dean will be responsible for cultivating and improving relationships with the Chicago area business community, Driehaus alumni, and business and academic leaders across the country and around the world. The Dean will also work internally to promote and support the professional development of faculty, staff, and students. The Dean will thereby strengthen the College's capacity to incorporate real world business experiences in the classroom, offer innovative programs, and hence fulfill its mission of preparing graduates to succeed in the competitive global business community. At the same time, the Dean will strengthen its graduates' capacity to fulfill the University's Vincentian mission: to foster through higher education a sensitivity to and care for the needs of each other and of those served, with a special concern for the deprived members of society, and to instill in its students a dedication to the service of others. The Dean of the College of Business reports to the Provost, and is the chief executive officer of the College responsible for all aspects of management, leadership, and advancement. Ideal candidates should bring a strong and successful track record of organizational leadership, financial management and fundraising. The new Dean should have an understanding of academic accrediting processes in general, and the AACSB accreditation community in particular. In addition, s/he should have a familiarity with the academic study of business, both face-to-face and online. A Ph.D. (or other terminal degree) and a track record of promotion through the academic ranks, are preferred. Salary is competitive.
