Information System or Business Analytics Faculty: Rank Open

The Department of Management in the Trulaske College of Business at the University of Missouri (MU) invites applicants to apply for two rank open faculty positions in our Information Systems, Analytics and Technology group. Applicants should have earned a Ph.D. degree in a related area. ABD candidates within one year of completing their Ph.D. degrees will also be considered. The successful candidate will demonstrate a high quality, active research stream in information systems, business analytics, or related areas. Collaborative work with faculty and doctoral students is expected.

Key skills sought include expertise in leading edge information system or business analytics research, proven college level teaching ability, and collegiality in service roles. Preference will be given to candidates whose research is focused on information systems or business analytics to support leading innovative, entrepreneurial, and technology organizations. We desire candidates who will help achieve our goal to become a top 20 management department in terms of research excellence and instructional program innovation with a focus on the management of innovation, entrepreneurship and technology. Expertise in analysis of structured and unstructured big data is also desired (but not required).

The Management Department consists of three research-oriented faculty groups: Information Systems, Analytics, & Technology; Innovation, People & Organizations (OB/HR); and Strategy, Innovation & Entrepreneurship. We are building a revitalized department based on reimagining how business and business education will serve our constituents into the future. Our department contributes significant scholarly research and innovative instructional programs addressing cutting edge organizations, new forms of organizing, creativity, flexible and nimble organizations, organizations in the information age, and the idea economy.  We prepare students to be leaders in entrepreneurial and technology settings: in large established firms, small and medium sized growth businesses, and entrepreneurial startups.

The Trulaske College of Business consists of about 65 full-time faculty members who serve approximately 5,000 undergraduates, 285 master’s students, and 35 doctoral students. The Department of Management consists of 12 tenure-track faculty members and 10 full-time teaching faculty who share a strong commitment to excellence in research and teaching. We expect significant new hiring throughout the Management Department over the next five years.  More information can be found at http://business.missouri.edu.

MU is both a Carnegie Doctoral/Research University-Extensive and Association of American Universities institution. Columbia, with a population of about 110,000, has consistently been rated as one of most livable communities in U.S.

Application materials (letter of interest, curriculum vita, evidence of teaching effectiveness) should be submitted online at http://hrs.missouri.edu/find-a-job/academic/index.php (Job ID#:23647).  Applications will be accepted until October 30, 2017 or until the position is filled.
