Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a twelve-month, non-tenure track Senior Lecturer of Communication and Journalist in Residence faculty position in the School of Communication and Media.

Position Responsibilities:
To operate and grow an award-winning news laboratory, a collaborative partnership between leading news organizations in the Southeast and some of the state’s top university journalism programs. Based at Kennesaw State University, the collaborative investigative reporting initiative has a dual mission: making the vital work of investigative reporting affordable for news organizations and increasing diversity in professional newsrooms. In training a new generation of diverse investigative reporters, the news laboratory promotes community engagement and brings marginalized voices into the public debate. This position will accomplish these tasks through teaching a four-credit hour class per semester.

Required Education, qualifications, and experience:
Qualifications include an earned master’s or doctorate in Communication, Journalism, or related discipline, or its foreign equivalent with demonstrated effectiveness in teaching. Applicants with the training, ability, and/or experience equivalent to the minimum degree may be considered. Success in fund-raising and grant work should be demonstrated.

The Journalism and Emerging Media major is one of four programs within the School of Communication and Media, with approximately 200 students. The School serves more than 1,600 undergraduate and graduate students through its diverse and expanding curriculum. The School of Communication and Media offers a B.S. in Journalism, a B.S. in Communication, a B.S. in Public Relations, a Master of Arts in Integrated Global Communication, and a Graduate Certificate in Digital & Social Media. The College of Humanities and Social Sciences is the largest college at KSU enrolling more than 7,000 students in 30 undergraduate and graduate degree programs.
