Temple University College of Public Health, devoted to an innovative educational and research environment that brings a transdisciplinary perspective of health, wellness and social welfare, is seeking applicants for instructional faculty in Environmental Health to join a growing academic unit.

Position and Qualifications. We have openings for enthusiastic instructors to teach environmental health courses in our undergraduate and graduate public health programs. An earned doctorate is preferred; however, Ph.D. candidates may be considered. Rank is open and faculty may be hired as instructors or at the rank of assistant, associate or full professor in the nontenure instructional track.

The Department. The Department’s academic programs include a Ph.D. in Epidemiology and M.P.H. programs in Epidemiology, Applied Biostatistics, and Environmental Health as well as M.S. programs in Epidemiology and Clinical and Translational Medicine. The Department contributes toward the College’s nationally recognized B.S. in Public Health. All academic programs are accredited by the Council on Education in Public Health. The Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics has research programs in obesity, psychiatric epidemiology, cancer, health promotion, physical activity, substance abuse, global public health, climate change, water quality, engineered nonmaterial, global health, maternal/child/adolescent/family health, applied biostatistics, cancer and environmental health.

The College. Devoted to a transdisciplinary environment for academic programming and research, the College of Public Health has seen remarkable growth and organizational expansion its programs and research profile. CPH has the highest external funding per faculty and second highest total research dollars among the 17 schools and colleges at the University. The College’s innovative research focuses on medical interventions, social, behavioral, and environmental inquiries, and basic science. This work is sponsored by NIH, NSF, and other major funders. A constellation of 9 academic units of public health, health profession, and social work disciplines, the College enrolls nearly 4,600 students in 51 academic programs.
