PROVOST AND VICE PRESIDENT

FOR ACADEMIC AFFAIRS

Applications and nominations are invited for the position of Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs at Southeastern Louisiana University.  The Provost/Vice President reports to the President and is a member of the President’s Executive Council.  The Provost/Vice President is responsible for providing leadership and direction for all academic programs.  Units reporting to the Provost include the College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences, College of Business, College of Education, College of Nursing and Health Sciences, College of Science and Technology, Honors Program, Enrollment Management, Office of Institutional Research, Center for Faculty Excellence, Center for Student Excellence, Office of International Initiatives, Office of Sponsored Research and Programs, the Southeastern Channel, and the Library.

Southeastern Louisiana University is a progressive regional, comprehensive university that enrolls approximately 15,000 graduate and undergraduate students.  The University’s home, Hammond, is at the crossroads of Interstates 55 and 12 in the heart of Louisiana’s thriving Northshore. It is centrally located within an hour’s drive of New Orleans, Baton Rouge (the state capital), and the Mississippi Gulf Coast, and affords extensive cultural, recreational, and research opportunities.

The applicant must present evidence of academic leadership, successful senior level administrative experience, a doctoral or appropriate terminal degree, a record of creative or scholarly achievement, successful four-year college/university teaching experience, and qualifications meriting an appointment as full professor.

The appointment is a 12-month position; beginning date is negotiable, September 4, 2017 preferred.  Salary is commensurate with experience.  Consideration is assured for application and letters received by July 21, 2017.  The search will continue until the position is filled.
