The Department of Languages, Literatures and Linguistics of Syracuse University invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor in French and Francophone Studies. This is a one-year appointment beginning August 21, 2017 and may be considered for a one-year extension.
The successful candidate will teach three courses in the fall and three courses in the spring divided between undergraduate and graduate level courses. In addition, the selected candidate will advise MA students on their final projects.


A Ph.D. in modern French literature or culture and related fields such as Comparative Literature, Film or Media Studies, History, and Cultural Studies. Native or near-native Fluency in French and English, and experience in teaching French higher division courses and graduate seminars at college level are required. Salary is competitive.
