The Lynch School of Education at Boston College seeks three tenure-track positions at the Assistant Professor level in our departments of Educational Leadership and Higher Education (ELHE); Measurement, Evaluation, Statistics and Assessment (MESA); and Counseling, Developmental and Educational Psychology (CDEP). These scholars will join a vibrant and forward thinking community of scholars that integrates research, practice, and policy work to respond to the challenges of a diverse and rapidly changing world. Priority will be given to applicants who have an established program of scholarship and evident potential for success in securing external funding.
Qualifications for ELHE position: The ideal candidate has a strong and promising scholarly agenda focusing on education law and public policy in education, and is able to help students develop both academic and practical knowledge about law and public policy. The candidate is expected to teach graduate courses in US education law and policy issues in PK-12 and higher education, advise students, and provide service to the department and the broader Boston College community. The candidate should have earned a doctoral degree (PhD, PhD/J.D., or J.D.) by June 1, 2018. Qualifications for MESA position: The candidate’s experience should include training in evaluation theories, methodologies and applied evaluation studies. The candidate is expected to teach graduate courses, advise students, and provide service to the department, the Lynch School of Education, and the broader Boston College community. An earned doctorate in program evaluation, educational psychology, or a related field must be completed by June 1, 2018. Qualifications for CDEP position: Applicants should hold a doctoral degree in counseling, clinical child psychology or a related field and have an established record of scholarly publications. Applicants should be license eligible as a Psychologist in the State of Massachusetts. Applications are especially encouraged from persons who would enhance the diversity of the faculty. Applicants should have a background in counseling/clinical psychology, espouse a developmental focus, and maintain a strong research program in work that has the promise to generate external funding.
