Specialist IV, Human Resources (#20600) SO/UP
Position Summary
Under general/limited supervision, performs significant functions
in Human Resources to support the daily operations of the
department. This position provides advice and information to others
and ensures that System policies and practices surrounding HR
functions are implemented and carried out correctly by others in
consultation with the HR Manager. Assists the campus HR Manager
with Human Resources responsibilities, including but not limited to
performing data entry, data validation, processing functions,
maintaining files, and clerical support.
Job Functions
1.Greets visitors and maintains a professional and welcoming
environment for employees and visitors; responds to basic HR
questions and routes other questions to the appropriate
resource.
2.Performs process functions and assists with the management of a
LSC benefits programs and a variety of employment and performance
management programs
3.Assists with hiring new employees, including but not limited to
performing data entry, position requests, auditing and correcting
paperwork, processing background checks and employment
verifications, and other related actions.
4.Assists with setup, tracking and auditing a variety
payroll-impacting actions, including but not limited to employee
leaves; ensures appropriate documentation is in place and follows
up with appropriate resources.
5.Creates, monitors, and maintains databases and spreadsheets for
various projects as assigned.
6.Analyzes HR data and prepares reports for management
review.
7.Provides clerical support to include word processing, copying,
mail, travel reimbursements, ordering supplies, setting up meeting,
updating/maintaining calendars, and maintaining employment
files.
8.Implements inventory control of HR forms and supplies.
9.Maintains accurate and confidential employee files.
10.Assists with preparation and presentations of Human
Resources-related training.
11.Responsible for other reasonable related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
High school diploma and at least 5 years of related work
experience, or an equivalent combination of education and
experience
Salary
Hiring Salary is $30,233
