The Josef Korbel School of International Studies at the University of Denver is seeking an open rank tenure-track professor in the area of quantitative global modeling of political, social, economic, energy, and/or environmental dynamics. The position will begin in September 2018. This position offers a competitive salary and benefits package. We seek someone whose research and teaching will advance both the scholarly and the outreach goals of the school.

 

The successful candidate for this position is expected to support the work of the Frederick S. Pardee Center for International Futures at the Korbel School, and this person’s research will make a substantial and sustained contribution to the Center's mission and goals. The successful candidate will also have the title of Senior Scientist or Director of Research within the Pardee Center, and is expected to be a PI or Co-PI on some Center grants and contracts. The mission of the Pardee Center (pardee.du.edu) is to provide the best possible long-term national, regional, and global quantitative forecasts and forecasting capability across multiple issue areas in sustainable human and social development. Use and continued development of the International Futures (IFs) forecasting system are central to the Center's work. Projects sponsored by governments, IGOs, and NGOs support two-thirds of the Centers million-dollar-plus annual budget. Work in the Center will be associated with a reduced teaching load.
