The Kinesiology Department at Valparaiso University in Valparaiso Indiana invites applications for a visiting full-time faculty position in exercise science to begin August 1, 2017, at the rank of Assistant or instructor. Rank is determined by experience and qualifications. Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled. 

Teaching responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, Exercise Physiology, Exercise Physiology Lab, and Biomechanics with lab.  

The Kinesiology Department has over 200 student majors within the Exercise Science, Sport Management, and Physical Education Teacher Education (K-12) majors. The candidate will be expected to be a leader in bringing additional student majors into the program. 

Established in 1859, Valparaiso University is in the Chicagoland area of northwest Indiana. Valparaiso is a Lutheran International University. Its 4,000 students pursue degrees in a wide range of liberal arts, professional, and graduate programs. Candidates should be interested in working at a university engaged in issues in Christian higher education in the Lutheran tradition.

Qualifications: The qualified candidate must have excellent teaching credentials.  The candidate must possess a Ph.D. degree in Exercise Physiology, Exercise Science, Biomechanics, and/or PT at the time of hire. Experience in teaching Exercise Physiology plus lab, and Kinesiology is desirable as is supervision of student research.
