Webster University Thailand seeks an accomplished academic
executive to serve as its Director. Applications are invited.
Founded in 1915, Webster University in St. Louis, Missouri, is a
private, non-profit university with campus locations around the
world including Austria, Switzerland, The Netherlands, Greece,
China, Thailand, and Ghana. For further information about Webster

Minimum Qualifications
The Director will possess at least the following professional and
personal attributes:
• Commitment to high quality, innovative, U.S.-style,
student-centered learning and to providing students with
transformative education for individual excellence and global
citizenship
• Demonstrated ability to work successfully in a diverse,
multi-cultural, complex international organization committed to
diversity and inclusion.
• Excellent communication skills, including public speaking,
persuasive discourse and presentation skills; ability to advocate
for Webster University, its students, and its programs
• PhD or other doctorate and experience in research, teaching, and
university management
• Experience in and understanding of Thai culture
• Ability to provide strategic vision and inspiration for Webster
University Thailand and to engage constituents in the development
and achievement of shared goals
• Ability to work collaboratively on common strategic goals with
academic and administrative leaders from around the Webster
network, including directors of the other international campuses,
the deans of the schools and colleges, the Office of the Provost,
and other primary offices at the main campus in St. Louis
• Knowledge of U.S. academic leadership; familiarity with shared
governance and accreditation processes.
• Ability to cultivate and maintain supportive external
relationships with alumni and donors, the business, government, and
non-profit communities, and industry partners in Thailand.
Preferred Qualifications
Desirable:
• Knowledge in negotiating collaborative inter-university
partnerships, research networks, and programs
• Knowledge of the norms and standards practiced in Thai Higher
Education
• Fluency in English is required, and knowledge of Thai is
preferred.
Essential Duties
The Director serves as the Webster University Thailand’s senior
executive officer, carries final and overall legal responsibility
for the management of its operations, and is supported by the
Academic Director, and members of the Webster University Thailand
staff and faculty. Acting under the supervision of the University
Council, he/she provides leadership and strategy aligned with
Webster University’s mission and vision and the directives of the
senior administration of Webster University.
Webster University Thailand has locations in both Cha-Am and
Bangkok. It was established in 1999 and serves approximately 370
undergraduate and graduate students from more than 50 countries.
Students choose from undergraduate degree programs in business and
management, international relations, media communications, computer
science, and psychology; and graduate degree programs in business
administration, international relations, and media communications.
In addition to its US accreditation, the Thailand campus is also
accredited by the Thailand Ministry of Education.
