The Department of Bioengineering at the University of Toledo is one of the oldest in Ohio and in recent years has had rapid growth in student enrollments and research programs. The department has an undergraduate and graduate student body of nearly 400 students. The department has an opening for a new tenure-track faculty member at the rank of assistant professor beginning in January 15, 2018.  The department has research strengths in the areas of biomechanics, biomaterials/tissue engineering and biomedical devices. However, candidates in all areas of bioengineering are encouraged to apply and will be given full consideration.

An earned doctorate in biomedical materials or related field is required for the position. Candidates must have a strong research and publication record. Applicants must also have a strong commitment and ability to teach at the undergraduate and graduate levels as well as excellent communication skills. The successful hires are expected to develop independent, externally supported research programs, and to maintain a strong publication record.
