The Board of Trustees and the Clark Atlanta University community invite applications and nominations for the position of Executive Vice President of Finance and Administration. Clark Atlanta University is a comprehensive, private, coeducational institution of higher education with a predominantly African-American heritage. The University was established in 1988 through the consolidation of its two parent institutions, Atlanta University (1865), the nation’s first institution to award graduate degrees to African-Americans, and Clark College (1869), the nation’s first-four-year liberal arts college to serve a primarily African-American student population.

Serving nearly 3,900 students and offering 38 areas of study, the University is one of the largest members among the nation’s 37 UNCF institutions, and the largest, only coeducational undergraduate institution in the prestigious, centrally located, Atlanta University Center. The U.S. News and World Report ranked Clark Atlanta University in the top 20 of its 2015 listing of America’s Best HBCUs and in the same year the Princeton Review ranked Clark Atlanta University as one of the “Best Southeastern Universities.”  Clark Atlanta University’s MBA Program in 2013 won the National Black MBA Association/Chrysler Case Competition, defeating 30 national schools of business to claim the championship.

Reporting directly to the President, the Vice President of Finance and Administration, the chief fiscal officer of the University and financial advisor to the President, will actively participate in policy development and strategic planning by formulating long-range financial projections and cost-benefit analysis of programs and services, including insurance risk analysis. She or he will direct the major administrative functions in the following areas: financial planning and budget development; internal audit; endowment management; human resources; facilities, procurement; auxiliary services; and co-direct information technology.

The review of applications will begin immediately. To ensure full consideration, candidates should send via e-mail by June 23, 2017: 1) a cover letter that addresses the position responsibilities and qualification as listed in the profile; 2) a current resume or C.V.; and 3) the contact information for three professional references.
