The Department of Management and Business at Skidmore College invites applications for a tenure-track appointment in Strategic Management or Macro Organizational Theory, with additional teaching interests in Entrepreneurship or International Business. Special consideration will be given to applicants who demonstrate an ability to teach business strategy effectively at the introductory and capstone levels. This tenure-track position is at the level of Associate Professor or Assistant Professor beginning in September 2018. We are particularly interested in candidates from under-represented backgrounds who can add to the diversity and excellence of our academic community. Primary responsibilities include providing excellence in teaching, advising students, engaging in high quality scholarly research, and participating in service for the Department and the College. The typical teaching load is five courses per academic year. All teaching is at the undergraduate level.

Skidmore College values a strong commitment to teaching excellence in a liberal arts environment, along with an ongoing and productive research program. The interest and ability to develop and teach courses in one of our many interdisciplinary programs is also highly desirable, particularly Skidmore’s First Year Experience program. A commitment to a liberal arts educational philosophy is desired.

Candidates should possess a Ph.D. in the appropriate discipline (or ABD with expected completion by the end of 2018), evidence of teaching competence at the undergraduate level, and a promising research program. Those from diverse racial, ethnic, and/or cultural backgrounds are especially encouraged to apply, as well as individuals who have experience teaching and mentoring diverse student populations.

Review of applications will begin July 1st and will continue until the position is filled.
