Kean University also operates a unique, additional location in Wenzhou-China, where development of a full-scale campus is currently underway.

Kean is seeking faculty to join the School of Nursing during an exciting period of expansion and transformation. New faculty will have the opportunity to make valuable contributions to the development of new programs (both a generic BSN and a DNP program), in addition to current RN-BSN and MSN programs and a Ph. D. in Nursing Educational Leadership. Kean offers Nursing at the main campus in Union, New Jersey as well as at additional locations in both Toms River, New Jersey and Raritan, New Jersey.

Faculty teaching assignments and related responsibilities may include day, evening, weekend and online courses. Participation in curriculum development, student advisement and service at the school, college, university and community level is also required. Interest or experience in using advanced instructional technologies to improve the teaching/learning process is highly desirable. Positions are effective for the fall 2017 semester. All positions are subject to availability of funds, due to financial exigencies.

Tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor (Full-time, 10 Months)

Tenure-track faculty positions are ten-month assignments at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. Tenure-track faculty are expected to demonstrate a commitment to teaching excellence and an on-going program of research and publication or creative and performance activity and will assume teaching and faculty related responsibilities across all undergraduate and graduate nursing programs, as well as academic and career advisement. Other duties include, but are not limited to: participation in the Center for Nursing Research and graduate research symposium; curriculum development; assessment of student outcomes measurements; teaching Ph.D. courses, dissertation supervision and completion; and other initiatives.

Qualifications:

Ph.D. or Ed.D. in Nursing or a related field and current Registered Nurse license in the State of New Jersey is required (out-of-state licensed applicants must apply and receive a New Jersey RN license through reciprocity/endorsement in order to be hired: http://www.njconsumeraffairs.gov/nur/pages/fingerprint-request.aspx). ABD considered with completion date by September 1, 2018. A minimum of two years of academic teaching experience is preferred.

Lecturer (Full-time, 12 Months)

A Lecturer teaches and provides student and learning support services during the assigned periods. The Lecturer holds a strong commitment to teaching; maintains office and advising hours for students; actively participates in the university community; and does related work as required. Lecturer positions are non-tenure track and may be renewed on an annual basis.

Union Campus:

To teach undergraduate and graduate nursing courses; serve as Clinical Placement Coordinators, responsible for clinical placement of the BSN and MSN students at all locations; oversee SIM lab activities; and student enrollment coordination. Responsibilities span a full range of faculty activities including, but not limited to: participation in the Center for Nursing research and graduate research symposium; curriculum development; assessment of student outcomes measurements; and other initiatives.

Qualifications:

To teach undergraduate and graduate nursing courses; facilitate clinical placement, program coordination and advisement for the BSN and MSN programs at the Ocean location; serve as liaison to disseminate intra-location/departmental communication at Kean Ocean; and participate in recruitment activities. Responsibilities span a full range of faculty activities including, but not limited to: participation in the Center for Nursing research and graduate research symposium; curriculum development; assessment of student outcomes measurements; and other initiatives.

Qualifications:

Half-time Instructors teach 12 credits for the academic year and provide student and learning support services during the assigned periods. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: teaching undergraduate and graduate nursing courses; maintaining office and advising hours for students; curriculum development; and related work as required. This is a non-tenure track position that may be renewed on an annual basis.

Qualifications:
