President

Hudson Valley Community College

Troy, NY

Hudson Valley Community College (HVCC), a nationally-recognized leader for student success, seeks a strategic and inspirational leader to serve as its President. The new President will join the college at a time when it plans for the future and sets a vision to remain one of the most highly regarded community colleges in the nation.

Founded in 1953, Hudson Valley Community College is a part of the 64-campus State University of New York (SUNY) system. Located in Troy, just outside of Albany, in the scenic Hudson Valley, HVCC plays a significant role in providing access to education and opportunity in a supportive environment to New York’s Capital Region residents, as well as to students from around the state. The college offers more than 80 associate degree and certificate programs through its four schools: Business; Engineering and Industrial Technologies; Health Sciences; and Liberal Arts and Science, educating nearly 12,000 students per semester, —6,300 full-time and 5,580 part-time. In addition, through the College in the High School program, over 2,000 students enroll in more than 90 HVCC credit-bearing courses offered at their high schools. Strong continuing education and workforce development programs are also offered by the college. HVCC employs nearly 600 faculty and 430 staff and has an annual operating budget of $111M.

Reporting to the Board of Trustees, the President will work with the campus community to envision an even healthier future for HVCC, building on the strengths of its faculty and staff and capitalizing on its location in the Capital Region. This vision must include a creative and entrepreneurial approach to growing enrollment, ensuring high levels of retention, and consider a way to diversify funding. A strategic thinker, the President will possess the ability to bring this shared vision to life, mobilizing the campus and broader community, clearly and concisely communicating a path forward. As the chief ambassador of Hudson Valley Community College, the President will strengthen partnerships and relationships with local and state government, business, industry, alumni, other educational institutions, and civic organizations.
