The Department of Community and Environmental Health at Boise State University invites applications for an Assistant or Associate rank, full-time (9-month) tenure-track or tenured faculty member beginning August 2017. Rank will be commensurate with the candidate’s record of achievement. Scholarship and teaching expertise in the following areas is preferred: public health leadership, health education and promotion, health policy, and health data analytics (including informatics, epidemiology, and biostatistics).
The ideal candidate for this position is expected to: a) have a
doctoral degree in public health or closely related field; b)
possess a record of extramural funding and scholarly achievements
appropriate for their current rank; d) have experience teaching
public health, research and analysis in undergraduate and graduate
courses; e) have capacity to work collaboratively within a dynamic
environment; f) value service at the institutional and community
levels; and g) have a demonstrated commitment to inclusion and
diversity.
At a minimum you should have:
An earned doctorate in public health or closely-related
degree
A record of peer-reviewed publication and external funding
Experience teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate levels
in content areas including, but not limited to, public health,
health education and promotion, and research and analysis
(quantitative and qualitative).
Preferentially, you will have:
At least two years of experience as a faculty member
A strong commitment to working with students and fostering their
professional development
