UNDERGRADUATE NEUROSCIENCE INTERDEPARTMENTAL PROGRAM

Position: The undergraduate Neuroscience Interdepartmental Program at UCLA seeks a lecturer to teach up to six courses (full time) across the Fall, Winter and Spring quarters of 2017-18 (2 courses/quarter). Percentage of employment will vary according to number of courses taught. Positions may be part-time, temporary, and of limited duration. However, applicants seeking to teach these same courses (see below) across multiple years are preferred. Applications will be accepted on a continuous basis. Screening of applications will take place until the position or positions is/are filled.

Duties: Teach (and co-teach) lecture, laboratory, and outreach in neuroscience and other topics as needed; plan and coordinate discussion activities for multiple sections of courses; supervise course teaching assistants; manage the acquisition and maintenance of course materials; develop computer applications for the classroom; supervise student projects; and maintain office hours.

Qualifications: Ph.D. degree in the biological sciences related to neuroscience; demonstrated experience in undergraduate teaching at the university level; experience with laboratory instruction in the biological sciences. Experience in teaching neuroanatomy is preferred. Level of appointment and salary commensurate with qualifications, experience and duties.
