Extended Campus, as an academic unit of the University of
Northern Colorado, is charged with meeting the demand for new and
relevant academic programs and professional development, primarily
to adult learners, delivered online or off campus and in a
cost-effective manner. The Executive Director of Extended Campus is
a collaborative, innovative leader responsible for developing and
implementing a vision for extended campus operations that aligns
with and supports the university's mission. The successful
candidate will oversee and is responsible for an operational unit
within Academic Affairs with a budget of approximately
$13 million. The unit delivers programs to nearly 3,000 students
annually throughout Colorado and beyond through online
delivery.
The Executive Director collaborates with Academic Affairs leaders
to identify, create, deliver and evaluate undergraduate and
graduate programs, professional development and high school dual
enrollment courses via multiple delivery formats (distance,
face-to-face, flipped, hybrid and online). The successful
candidate will execute and oversee all phases of program
development, delivery, budget, evaluation, instructional design and
development, support for faculty and courses related to high school
dual enrollment. The Executive Director of Extended Campus
also oversee the budget/expenditures of two programs within the
Center for International Education. This position reports to the
Provost and Senior Vice President.
Minimum qualifications: Master’s degree required
and a minimum of 5 years of leadership experience in an
distance/extended campus or continuing education; higher education
experience and demonstrated success in working with faculty, deans
and directors from a wide variety of programs; experience in
developing innovative revenue-generating programs. Sound fiscal and
personnel management skills, excellent oral and written
communication, creativity, self-direction, problem-solving and
evidence-based decision-making skills are required.
Preferred qualifications: doctoral degree plus
six or more years of experience in distance and or continuing
education.
