President

The Poynter Institute, a leading global media center, seeks its sixth president. The president will lead Poynter’s ongoing transformation to serve journalism across the full spectrum of formats. Under the president, Poynter will continue to:

• Lead thinking about the future of journalism, its essential values and ethics, and the business models that will sustain it. 
• Offer programs, in person and on-line, both about the practice of journalism and about its responsibilities to citizens. 
• Strengthen connections with supporters who care about journalism, especially as a pillar of democracy.

The presidency of Poynter requires capacities in journalism, business, leadership, education and fund-raising. The president represents Poynter and its work to various constituencies within journalism and beyond. While based in Florida, the president will travel extensively, across the U.S. and internationally.
