Videography Instructor – Fall 2017

Job Description:
1. Teach basic and advanced courses in Videography program.
2. Teach concepts of film grammar.
3. Teach digital videography classes using Mac-Final Cut Pro software and Adobe Premiere Pro.
4. Teach event shooting, industrial and documentary video production, dramatic film production, and ADR and Foley sound production.
5. Provide student advisement, participate in program recruitment activities, and serve on appropriate academic committees.
6. Teaching assignments may be multi-campus with the strong possibility of day, evening, split and/or weekend classes.
7. Participate in community organizations, production of student film contests, screenings, and vendor seminars, etc.
8. Work with local school districts and regional colleges or universities for student transitions into and out of the CSN degree program.
9. Design and teach introductory and advanced level courses in best practices for sound recording for film, including topics such as: microphone pick patterns, microphone placement, sound isolation, production sound mixing, use of recording equipment; supervising and recording ADR/voice and Foley room recording technique, as well as post sound editing and final multi-channel mixing.
10. Advise students and participate in student recruitment.
11. Perform committee and other service at the program, department, and college levels.
12. Participate in curriculum development and teaching of other courses to meet the needs of the program and its students.

Required Qualifications:

1. B.A. in film and television, or a related field.
2. Industry experience in audio and post-production for film, television, and videography.
3. Demonstrate effective use of digital editing techniques for artistic, dramatic and narrative objectives.
4. Experience with standard definition, high definition and film editing workflows.
5. Ability to mold the technical elements of post-production into an academic framework and relate editing techniques to the overall process of filmmaking and storytelling.
6. Knowledge of all aspects of filmmaking from preproduction to post-production.
7. Working knowledge of editorial pre-visualization, Adobe Premiere Pro and/or Final Cut Pro essentials. Knowledge of CODEC's and video compressions.
8. Experience in Visual Effects, including green screen, blue screen, compositing and modeling.

Preferred Qualifications:
1. Master's degree from a regionally accredited College or University.
2. Community College-level teaching experience preferred.
3. Experience working with a diverse/multicultural student body and/or workforce.

Salary:
For this position the selected candidate will be able to choose between Tenure Track or Market Factor salary.

• Tenure Track salary placement is based on educational level and total years of full-time equivalent teaching experience. A maximum of 10 years of experience will be considered for initial salary placement purposes.

• Market Factor salary: $59,540
