The Fran and Earl Ziegler College of Nursing at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center seeks exceptional candidates for the Ziegler Palliative Care Endowed Chair in Nursing Science.  The Ziegler Endowed Chair will be awarded to a nurse or health related scientist with an earned doctorate and possessing a program of clinically focused research in palliative care or related field. Candidates must be tenure-eligible for senior university rank of associate or full professor. The successful candidate will bring a record of past and current extramural research funding, a consistent publication history, evidence of strong student and faculty mentorship, graduate teaching experience and a history of collaborative teamwork with nursing, allied health, medicine or other health-related disciplines. Applicable licenses must be current and active; applicants must be eligible for licensure in Oklahoma.

The College of Nursing has major interdisciplinary research initiatives aligned with those of the Health Sciences Center. Research partnerships are encouraged between scientists from the Health Science Center's six Colleges and multiple centers. The Ziegler Endowed Chair will be expected to embrace these collaborative initiatives and join us in this exciting trajectory of research.  Possible collaborations in research include the Stephenson Cancer Center, Harold Hamm Diabetes Center, Donald W. Reynolds Center of Geriatric Nursing Excellence and Donald W. Reynolds Department of Geriatric Medicine, and other campus and community agencies that address health across the life span.
